I feel odd having a writing blog even though I am now author to two whole books.
Ha, definitely not Stephen King here!
Yet.
No, really. I have nine children. I will never write dozens of books.
Probably.
As it says in my author biography, I started out writing fanfiction, specifically Star Wars fanfiction. I am an ardent enthusiast of the original trilogy, a cautious fan of the prequels, and I hate The Last Jedi to the depths of my very being. You probably don't want to hear me rant about that, so 'nuff said. (If you care, here is my fanfiction author page: https://www.fanfiction.net/u/8591855/LPK9.)
I write quickly, probably because I have people swirling around me like a cyclone much of the time and if I labor over every word, I would never get anything done.
People talk about writer's block but truthfully, I have never had a serious case of writer's block. Sometimes I am more inspired, sometimes less, but I have found that even if I don't know what to write, I should write something.
Helpful hint #1: You can't fix nothing.
I embrace this to the depths of my authorly soul. Even if I can't think of anything particularly good to write, it is better to write something than nothing. It is rare that I write pure garbage. Yes, rarely I have had to toss an entire piece of prose but 99% of the time, I can salvage at least something. In fact, I find that usually I like what I've written quite well.
